Track: Olympic bronze medalist Jackson wins 400 hurdles in Japan

KAWASAKI, Japan — Olympic bronze medalist Bershawn Jackson won the men's 400-meter hurdles today at the Super Track and Field meet.

Jackson, who won bronze for the United States in the event at Beijing, got off to a slow start but recovered to surge ahead of Japan's Kenji Narisako down the homestretch in a time of 49.33 seconds. Narisako finished second in 49.68.

Britain's Harry Aikines-Aryeetey won the men's 100 with a time of 10.19, .07 seconds ahead of American Michael Rodgers. Japan's Nobuharu Asahara, running in his last race, was third in 10.37.

Miriam Barnes won the women's 400 with a time of 53.18, while fellow American Damu Cherry took the women's 100 meter hurdles in 13.07, .06 seconds ahead of Candice Davis, also of the United States.

Japan's Koji Murofushi won the men's hammer throw with a heave of 81.02 meters, ahead of Hungary's Krisztian Pars with 80.67 and Beijing gold medalist Primoz Kozmus of Slovenia with 78.59.
