A preliminary hearing is scheduled today at District Court for a 19-year-old Waipahu man charged with a street robbery in West Loch allegedly committed while he was free on bail for another robbery and awaiting sentencing for a third similar offense.

All three second-degree robberies with Shane C. Muse as a suspect occurred between Feb. 24 and Sept. 5 of this year.

Muse was charged last week with second-degree robbery stemming from a Sept. 5 case on Fort Weaver Road and Laulaunui Street. A man, 20, was robbed of cash and his backpack at 1:15 a.m. after getting off a bus. Muse was identified as a suspect and arrested Wednesday at his Leonui Street residence. A boy, 16, was also identified as a suspect in the case.

Muse is being held at the O'ahu Community Correctional Center in lieu of $75,000 bail for the Sept. 5 robbery. His $40,000 bond for a May 1 bus-stop robbery involving two victims was surrendered last week after he was charged with the Sept. 5 robbery.

Muse is scheduled to be tried in Circuit Judge Michael Town on two counts of second-degree robbery on Nov. 24 for the May 1 case.

Town will also be the sentencing judge Dec. 8 for a Feb. 24 second-degree robbery, which occurred in Waikiki that Muse pleaded guilty to in May. Muse was released after posting $15,000 bail for that case.
