The name of the man whose body was found behind the Hawaii Convention Center this morning in Waikiki is not being released pending further study and notification of next of kin, according to the Honolulu Medical Examiner's office.
The manner and the cause of death both have been deferred pending further study, the Medical Examiner's office said.
Police spokesman Maj. Frank Fujii said a jogger noticed the man's lifeless body on the promenade behind the center, at 1801 Kalakaua Ave., at 6:30 a.m. and called 911.
Police identified the man as a 46-year-old Hawai'i resident with no known local address. Injuries of an unspecified nature were found on the body, but Fujii said they were not life-threatening and do not indicate foul play.
Bryan Cheplic, EMS spokesman, said the man was pronounced dead at 7:18 a.m.
The man was found about 100 yards from the Kalakaua Avenue bridge.
