Prosecutors today accused a man of allegedly kidnapping his former girlfriend at gunpoint and threatening to kill her.

Toi Albert Nofoa is being held in lieu of $75,000 bail.

According to an affidavit filed at District Court, Nofoa allegedly kidnapped the woman, 25, from the employee parking lot at Ko Olina last Thursday night. The woman alleges Nofoa held a gun to her neck and threatened to kill her and then himself, the affidavit stated.

The woman was able to escape with assistance from a witness after Nofoa stopped at a gas station/convenience store in Hale'iwa to buy alcohol.

A witness at the Hale'iwa scene told police he saw a man trying to force a female into his car and in the process slamming her hands in the door and using his weight to push her into the vehicle, the document stated. The witness intervened to help the woman.

Nofoa was arrested yesterday at a Nanakuli location on Helelua Street.
