No arrests in Dole Street robberies near UH campus

Advertiser Staff

Police have made no arrests in armed robberies late Tuesday and early Wednesday on Dole Street near the University of Hawai'i-Manoa campus.

A pistol was seen in the first incident while the suspect implied he had a handgun in the second case.

Tuesday's robbery was reported at 10:25 p.m.

A gunman confronted a graduate student riding a bicycle on Dole Street in front of Kanewai Park. A second suspect robbed the victim of his wallet. Police said the victim later reported his credit card being used at an automated teller machine in Kapahulu.

The second robbery occurred at 12:30 a.m. Wednesday on Dole Street near Whitney Street.

The male victim was confronted while walking by a man standing under a tree. The suspect gave the impression he had a gun tucked in his waistband under a shirt. The victim was robbed of cash, police said.

Police do not believe the robberies are connected.
