Advertiser Staff

"Join the Voices of Recovery — Real People, Real Recovery," is the theme of Kaua'i County's second annual Health & Wellness Fair, which will be held Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Lihu'e Civic Center in the breezeway between the Mo'ikeha and Pi'ikoi buildings.

The event is open to the public.

Information on a wide variety of health concerns will be available at the fair including drug prevention, addiction, enforcement and treatment; recovery assistance, healthy lifestyles, and health screenings.

"I believe it's important for the county to offer its employees and their families as well as the general public current information on health concerns," said Theresa Koki, anti-drug coordinator. "With our support, we can help those (who) need our assistance to lead more productive and fulfilling lives, both personally and professionally."

Among the organizations who will have informational tables are Alcoholics Anonymous, Alzheimer's Association, American Red Cross, Baby SAFE/Prenatal Support Services, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Boys & Girls Club, Department of Health — Women, Infant and Children, Hawai'i Drug Court, Hearts4Kauai, Hina Mauka, Ho'ola Lahui Hawai'i, and Kaua'i County's Agency on Elderly Affairs, Anti-Drug Office, Department of Liquor Control, Department of Parks & Recreation, the police department's Youth Services, and prosecutor's office; Kaua'i Family Planning Education, REAL, Transitions, and Women in Need.
