Two people killed Thursday at an Aiea market each died from a single gunshot to the head in a murder-suicide, the city office of the Medical Examiner said yesterday.
Judy Shimamoto, 54, died of a gunshot wound to her head and the manner of death was classified as a homicide, the medical examiner's office said.
Dennis Inouye, 61, died of a gunshot wound to the head, and the manner of death was suicide, the office said.
Shimamoto was the co-owner of Bobo's Mini Mart on Kamehameha Highway and Inouye was a family friend who worked there, police have said. The bodies were found by a customer Thursday morning. A gun was found next to Inouye, who was found lying in a pool of blood in front of the counter.
The killings were O'ahu's fifth murder-suicide of the year.
