Driver sought in hit-and-run incident

CrimeStoppers and the Honolulu Police Department are seeking the public's assistance in finding a driver and vehicle wanted for failing to render aid at an accident.

At about 6:30 p.m. Saturday, a vehicle struck a pedestrian in a crosswalk at the intersection of Farrington Highway and Waiomea Street.

The vehicle fled afterward and continued west on Farrington Highway. The victim was taken to ae hospital in serious condition with a broken leg.

The vehicle is described as a newer Ford full-size pickup truck, light colored and possibly silver, with an engine crane device in the rear bed. The passenger-side rear-view mirror was left at the scene.

Anyone with information is asked to call CrimeStoppers at

955-8300, or *CRIME on a cellular phone. Free cellular calls are provided by AT&T, Nextel Hawaii, T-Mobile, and Verizon Wireless Hawaii.
