Police last night arrested two men on suspicion of second-degree attempted murder of a 22-year-old Wai'anae man.

Jordan A. Simmons, 21, was arrested at 7 p.m. without incident at 2199 Kamehameha Avenue, police said. Arrested at 10:10 p.m. was Curtis K. Rivera, 23, also without incident, at 87-1023 Anala St., police said.

One suspect, who has not been identified, remains at large, police said.

According to police, the suspects, along with at least one other man, confronted the victim while he was seated in a parked vehicle in a residential parking lot in Wai'anae early Saturday morning.

Rivera allegedly was armed with a rifle and discharged it while making verbal threats toward the complainant, police said. The suspects then allegedly beat the complainant and the weapon was discharged again while it was being used during the beating, police said.

The victim was taken The Queen's Medical Center by ambulance.

Rivera was also arrested on suspicion of first-degree terroristic threatening and first-degree reckless endangerment, both felon charges.

As of 8:45 a.m., no charges against either suspect had been filed, police said.
