ADELAIDE, Australia — Wallace Booth shot a 3-under 69, helping Scotland take a four-stroke lead after three rounds of the World Amateur Team Championship on Saturday.
Scotland is in position to win the Eisenhower Trophy for the first time.
"It would be a tremendous achievement," Scotland coach George Crawford said after his lineup moved to 21-under for the tournament. "But I really don't want to talk about victory because a round of golf is a huge thing ... anything can happen."
Booth is 11 under for the tournament, one behind 19-year-old American Rickie Fowler in the individual standings. There are 195 players competing for the Eisenhower Trophy.
Fowler had a 2 under on the par-72 The Grange course Saturday, but the United States slipped back with Billy Horschel going 2 over and Jamie Lovemark 3 over for the round.
The leading teams in the 65-nation tournament will play the final round at the par-73 Royal Adelaide course.
