ST. LOUIS — St. Louis Blues backup goaltender Chris Mason is expected to miss two weeks after emergency appendectomy surgery.
The surgery was Thursday night, and announced on Friday. No other details were given, and phone call and e-mail messages left with the team were not returned.
Mason is 32 and in his first season with the Blues. He has made one appearance this season, giving up four goals in a 5-2 loss to the Islanders on Oct. 11.
In seven seasons, Mason is 58-44-1 with a 2.62 goals-against average.
