Prosecutors will seek a life-without-parole sentence for a 19-year-old man charged yesterday with killing a McCully woman and stabbing her husband and 2-year-old daughter on Saturday.

Sato Franklin S. Sigrah, of a North Judd Street address, was charged with attempted first-degree murder, second-degree murder, attempted second-degree murder and burglary, all felonies. He was being held overnight at the main police station cellblock in lieu of $500,000 bail pending an initial appearance today in District Court. Sigrah's preliminary hearing will likely be scheduled at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Sigrah is accused of killing Lyola Mesebeluu, 27, who died at The Queen's Medical Center at 6:10 a.m. Saturday after being stabbed repeatedly in the upper torso in the bedroom of Unit 11 on the third floor at 2222 Kapi'olani Blvd., a three-story walk-up apartment building, police said.

Sigrah is also accused of stabbing Keith Mesebeluu, 26, the dead woman's husband, repeatedly in the upper torso during a struggle, and the couple's 2-year-old daughter, Kiarra, who was in the bedroom with her mother.

Sigrah is employed by a drug-store chain in Waikiki and is a citizen of one of the Federated States of Micronesia, police said.

According to an affidavit filed in District Court, police were sent to the apartment building at 4:10 a.m. to investigate a domestic argument and a report of a man in Unit 11 with a knife and another man yelling for an ambulance.

Upon entering the apartment, police found Lyola Mesebeluu lying on the bedroom floor and bleeding, Keith Mesebeluu standing near the bedroom door covered in blood, and Sigrah sitting on the kitchen floor, also covered in blood, the document stated.

Keith Mesebeluu gestured toward Sigrah, and told police, "He stabbed me and my family," the affidavit said. Mesebeluu also told police he and his family did not know Sigrah.

Keith Mesebeluu told police he was in the living room and was awakened by his wife's screams. He said he saw Sigrah standing over her in the bedroom and attacked the suspect.

Police found a large kitchen knife, believed to be the murder weapon, at the scene.

Yesterday, a red ginger and pink anthurium bouquet was placed next to the door of the family's apartment.

An attached message, from the people who live downstairs in Unit 4 read: "Our thoughts and prayers are with your family. Sooo sorry for your loss."

No one at the three-story apartment complex would comment yesterday.

But many friends and relatives of the Mesebeluus posted comments on the dead woman's Myspace page.

One comment posted yesterday reads: "Our Family (The Ngiraungil's) pledge to you Lyola-Keith-Kiarra today and The Misch Family. We think of you today and on in a hollowed place within our Hearts. Good bye and we Love you! Your Coz, *R. Ines Ngiraungil and Family*"

Another comment posted Saturday evening reads: "Rest in peace Lyola. You'll be missed. My prays are with you Keith and Kiarra. love, Noelle."

Another posted Saturday night reads: "Sending our love to you guys ... Rest in peace Lyola ... I know for sure you'll continue to watch over your daughter ... luv, Krissy and Izzy."

Prosecutors plan to seek extended sentencing if Sigrah is convicted of first-degree attempted murder, and/or extended and enhanced sentencing for conviction of the murder, two attempted-murder and burglary counts. The enhanced sentencing applies to the attempted murder of the child. In either scenario, prosecutors will seek a life sentence without the possibility of parole.

Police said yesterday that Keith Mesebeluu and his daughter are expected to recover from their injuries. An autopsy was scheduled for today in Lyola Mesebeluu's death.
