No sooner does the excitement of one Olympics settle than sports fans set their sights on the next — the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, British Columbia. CoSport, the official company sanctioned to sell tickets to Americans, invites ticket seekers to apply online through Nov. 7; tickets for single events and packages are available. There are no guarantees.

Tickets are allocated between mid-November and mid-December. Stadium event seating assignments, however, won't be made until next year. A sample of ticket prices at www.cosport.com for the 15 Olympic events range from $678 to $1,294 for the opening ceremony at BC Place stadium (high demand); $41 to $114 for luge events (low demand); $88 to $202 for men's and women's qualifying, semi- and final snowboard events. Closing Ceremony tickets range from $398 to $930.

The 2010 Winter Olympics are Feb. 12 to 28. www.vancouver2010.com. For games and ticket information, see www.cosport.com.

LONDON

NEW HOSTEL HAS SUPERB LOCATION AND COSTS ONLY ABOUT $40 A NIGHT

Students planning a semester abroad in Europe or travelers looking for ways to avoid London's giddy costs can check into a recently opened and centrally located London hostel in a brand-new building. It's an official member of the nonprofit Youth Hostel Association (but accepts guests of all ages), and an affiliate of Hosteling International, the International Youth Hostel Federation. Best of all, it's only a 15-minute walk from Piccadilly Circus. The London Central YHA is at 104 Bolsover St., and charges an average of $40 to $44 per person per night. www.yha.org.uk.

GLOBAL GLAMOR

MOVIE-LOCATIONS.COM IS THE PLACE TO LEARN AND DISH ABOUT FAVES

Panama gets a starring role in the new Bond film "Quantum of Solace," premiering Nov. 14. But so does Chile, Jamaica, Italy, Peru and a raft of other exotic locations. Bond movies are as famous for global glamor as for beautiful women and villainous low life.

If you've ever wondered about a movie location, where it is, and even plan to go there, check www.movie-locations.com, a database of worldwide movie locations with listings and maps. And if you know where a famous movie/scene was filmed and have photos, videos and details, this is the place to share it.
