New Mexico State sweeps past volleyball Rainbows

Amber Simpson had 11 kills and Lindsey Yon added 10 to lift New Mexico State to a 25-22, 26-24, 25-21 upset over sixth-ranked Hawai'i in a Western Athletic Conference women's volleyball match at the Stan Sheriff Center tonight.
New Mexico State, which ended UH's 12-match winning streak, is 11-7 overall and 6-1 in the WAC. Hawai'i is 12-3 and 5-1.
The Rainbow Wahine led in the first two sets before the Aggies rallied to win. The Aggies took control in the third set, going out to a 21-13 lead and cruised to the victory.
Jamie Houston led Hawai'i with 11 kills.
