Host Hotels links financial losses to Hawaii operations

Host Hotels & Resorts Inc., the largest U.S. hotel real estate investment trust, said third-quarter profit fell 44 percent after consumers and corporate groups cut back trips to Hawai'i, Bloomberg News said.
Revenue per available room fell 2.1 percent during the quarter, said Host, the owner of hotels managed by Marriott International Inc., Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide and Hilton Hotels Corp., Bloomberg said. Excluding two properties in Hawai'i, revenue per available room was down 0.4 percent.
