Warriors Kelly, Monteilh are WAC players of the week

University of Hawaii kicker Dan Kelly and safety Keao Monteilh were named Western Athletic Conference players of the week today.
Kelly, who kicked the game-winning 33-yard field goal to beat nationally ranked Fresno State in overtime, 32-29, was the WAC Special Teams Player of the Week.
Kelly, a senior from Temecula, Calif., made a career-high four field goals (36, 30, 41, 33) in the win.
Monteilh, who had two key interceptions in the game, was the WAC Defensive Player of the Week.
Monteilh's first interception led to a UH field goal. His second came at the UH 8 as Fresno State was driving for a potential score and enabled UH to take a 19-9 halftime lead.
A former Saint Louis School athlete,Monteilh also amassed seven tackles, three solo.
UH quarterback Inoke Funaki, who helped UH register its first road victory against a nationally ranked team, was nominated but did not win the award.
Funaki rushed for a team-high 79 yards and completed 18 of 25 passes for 170 and two touchdowns in knocking off Fresno State, which entered the game No. 21 in the USA Today poll and No. 22 in the Associated Press poll.
Boise State freshman quarterback Kellen Moore, who completed 20 of 28 passes for 325 yards and two touchdowns in Boise State's 38-3 win over Louisiana Tech, was named the WAC's Offensive Player of the Week award. Moore finished the game with a passing efficiency rating of 185.36.
UH plays Louisiana Tech Saturday at Aloha Stadium.
