A surfer was in critical condition yesterday after being pulled from the waters at the Gas Chambers surf spot.

City paramedics were called to the surfing spot between 'Ehukai Beach Park and Rocky Point at about 6:40 a.m., said city Emergency Services Department spokesman Bryan Cheplic.

Cheplic said the man was brought to shore by fellow surfers. Paramedics took over CPR efforts and took the man to a hospital in critical condition.
