The median sales price for a single-family home on O'ahu fell to $590,000 in September, a 9.2 percent decline from $650,000 the same month a year earlier, the Honolulu Board of Realtors reported today.

The September median sales price was down 7.1 percent from August's median price of $635,000.

The volume of single-family home sales fell to 215, a 15.7 percent decline from 255 sales in September 2007.

Condominium prices also fell sharply. The median condo sales price fell to $296,000 in September, an 11.6 percent decline from the same month a year earlier. The median condo sales price was down 9 percent from $328,000 in August.

The number of condo sales fell to 305 in September, down 26.3 percent from 414 in the same month a year earlier.
