Hawai'i Pacific tennis coach Stefan Pampulov was awarded the USTA/ITA Community Service Outreach Award.
The recognition honors an ITA coach for significant contributions in developing community-based tennis programs through community centers, schools, parks, community associations, inner city, suburban or rural programs.
Pampulov has been integral in the promotion of tennis throughout Hawai'i.
He has been involved in after-school programs at Enchanted Lake Elementary School and helped implement the ITA Tennis On Campus Program. He participated at the USTA Tennis Weekend at Ala Moana Park and Central O'ahu Regional Park, and most recently was involved in the State Capital Youth Day.
Pampulov was one of just eight coaches in the nation to receive the award.
"We are honored to accept this award on behalf of HPU," said Pampulov. "Our entire coaching staff and foremost our student-athletes who volunteer in our communities and share their passion for tennis."
"The USTA is very proud of the contributions these extremely special coaches have made on their campuses and within their local communities," said Glenn Arrington, USTA National Manager Tennis On Campus. "Not only do these fine coaches help pave the way for future generations of tennis players, they provide leadership and example for hundreds of other coaches nationwide that can benefit from engaging in campus and community outreach."
