Rainbow Wahine remain at No. 6 in AVCA Top 25 Poll; Houston earns WAC honors

The University of Hawai'i women's volleyball team remained at No. 6 in this week's American Volleyball Coaches Association Top 25 Poll.
The Rainbow Wahine (26-3) won all three matches at the Western Athletic Conference Tournament, beating New Mexico State yesterday en route to their 11th straight WAC crown. New Mexico State (23-8) entered the poll at No. 25.
Penn State (30-0) remained at No. 1 in the poll that was released today, receiving all 60 first-place votes, followed by Stanford (24-3) and Texas (23-3).
Also today, Hawai'i senior outside hitter Jamie Houston was named WAC Player of the Week for the third time this season. It is the ninth honor of her career, tying her for the most in WAC history. Houston was named WAC Tournament MVP after averaging 4.5 kills on .292 hitting, 2.2 digs and 1.1 blocks per set.
Hawai'i hosts Cal Poly on Wednesday and Friday to finish the regular season.
