More than a year after Ocean Club closed at Restaurant Row, a new nightclub is taking its place with a similar name.
Oceans 808 is slated to open Nov. 21, catering to the 23-and-over crowd.
Randy Brunett, Oceans 808 managing partner, said much of the former Ocean Club atmosphere was retained and added onto with new design elements including illuminated water wall displays.
"It's 80 percent of the old, but we added a whole lot of pizzazz," added club general manager Michael Griffith.
The new club will be open Monday to Saturday from 4 p.m. to 4 a.m., and impose a "smart-casual" dress code.
Ocean Club closed in September 2007, and at the time operators said they were negotiating to reopen at another location. Oceans 808 has different owners doing business as Hawaiian Pau Hana's LLC.
