Various sections of lanes in both directions of Fort Weaver Road will closed today through Friday, except for tomorrow.

The closures take place from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. daily , except Veterans Day, and will allow the state Department of Transportation to continue its project widening Fort Weaver from four lanes to six.

Specifically, various right lanes northbound between Renton Road and Honouliuli Stream Bridge will be affected.

During construction hours, one southbound lane will be contraflowed between Renton and Old Fort Weaver roads to provide an additional northbound lane.

The Fort Weaver widening project is expected to be completed in mid-2009.
