U.S. Sen. Daniel K. Inouye was among those at Honolulu International Airport this morning taking part in the dedication ceremony of the Hawaii Civil Air Patrol's new airplane.

The state-of-the-art "glass cockpit" Cessna G1000 single-engine plane is the ninth aircraft in the Civil Air Patrol's statewide fleet and will be used in various types of missions such as emergency services, tidal wave warning, and search and rescue.

The Civil Air Patrol serves as the U.S. Air Force's all-volunteer auxiliary and has 500 members in Hawai'i.
