Over the next few days a series of low pressure areas will move eastward through the north Pacific, the National Weather Service said.
A surface ridge will shift south, close to the islands, and bring lighter winds. With the lighter winds, clouds and showers will form over the islands in the afternoons, forecasters said.
Tropical moisture and an upper level trough will enhance showers today, especially over the Big Island. High pressure will build north of the islands starting Thursday, producing locally breezy trade winds by Friday.
