AT THE MOVIES
'Diary of the Dead' should satisfy your fright flick craving
| |||
"George A. Romero's Diary of the Dead" never did open in Honolulu movie theaters last year. But here's a chance for zombie-movie lovers to catch the flick: The Movie Museum in Kaimuki is screening the film at 2, 4, 6 and 8 p.m. today.
Jim Emerson of Universal Press Syndicate capsulized "Diary" (rated R): Film students making a horror movie for a school project turn into guerrilla documentarians with video shaky-cams when the undead return to stalk the Earth. This is the fifth of George A. Romero's "Living Dead" movies, and once again he mixes horror and socio-political satire — this time in the form of a Web site doc about post-9/11 paranoia and zombies who bite in the night.
Emerson gave it HHH.
