Police are investigating an apparent murder-suicide tonight on Halawa Heights Road in the Halawa Heights neighborhood.

Details were sketchy, but police said that a man and woman were found shot to death in their bed at a home at 99-801 Halawa Heights Road.

Police responded to a dropped 911 call that came in at 6:39 p.m. Police responded to the call and knocked on the door. Police said they could hear the wailing of a disconnected phone.

No one answered their knock, so officers climbed in through an open window and found a 60-year-old man and a 45-year-old woman dead on the bed with a handgun nearby, police said.
