UH business teams win cash for work

Hawai'i business students received cash awards and defense-aerospace company BAE Systems Inc. got a series of comprehensive research reports as the result of a competition held earlier this month at the University of Hawai'i-Manoa's Shidler College of Business.
The research conducted by student teams included the business demographics of a particular Asian country, evaluation of the economic climate by gathering data and analyzing economic and financial trends, analysis of the political environment, and a study of aerospace and defense demographics.
The goal of the project was to provide students with real-world experience, while at the same time giving BAE Systems research reports it can use in its business.
Teams of two to three students were given 20 minutes to present their research findings on BAE Systems' expansion into the Asia-Pacific markets.
The winners were:
Delaware-based BAE Systems Inc. is a subsidiary of BAE Systems PLC based in London. The U.S. unit consists of three operating groups that provide support and service solutions for defense, intelligence and civilian systems.
