Kolekole Pass, a military-only access road that connects the Wai'anae Coast with Central O'ahu, will remain closed through today due to a rockslide on the Lualualei side of the passage.

Navy environmental public affairs officer Grace Hew Len said Navy assessment team members removed basketball-size rocks from the roadway on Thursday. Falling rocks combined with heavy rains created waterfalls in some areas on the Navy side of pass, Hew Len said.

The pass will not be reopened until the conditions are determined to be safe, Hew Len said.
