Finally, the trade winds have returned to clear out the vog that has built up over the Hawaiian Islands the past few days.

Some vog will remain downwind of the volcano on the Big Island, but the air quality statewide is expected to improve, the National Weather Service said. Trade winds are expected to continue through this week, making for some welcome relief from the heat and the vog.
