'Aloha Shorts' taping June 1 at Public Radio

"Aloha Shorts," a locally-produced show hosted by Cedric Yamanaka featuring Island actors reading locally-written prose and stories, will hold a live taping at 7 p.m. June 1 at Atherton Performing Arts Studio at Hawaii Public Radio, 738 Kaheka St.
Producer Mark Lutwak has announced the participating cast:
• John Whyte White will read his short story, "Unstill Life With Mangoes."
• Brenda Kwon will read two of her poems, "Angry Women" and "Century's Lullaby," plus an excerpt from "Mother Tongue."
• Yamanaka will read his short story, "Dah Papah Football Champions."
A musician, yet to be named, will also participate.
Seating is free, but space is limited, so reservations are suggested. Call 955-8821, during office hours.
"Aloha Shorts" is broadcast from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesdays on KIPO 89.3 and digital cable channel 865. It also is streamed at www.hawaiipublicradio.org.
