CRUSTACEAN STARS IN HOKU'S SET MENU

Hoku's will be offering a five-course set menu featuring crab May 20 to 26. The menu from chef Wayne Hirabayashi includes peach consomme garnished with crab claw, a deconstructed California roll with king crab nashi nigiri, rice crusted soft-shell crab and a crab pot pie. There's no crab in the S'Mores Undone dessert, but there is a brownie, marshmallow ice cream and a graham cracker crust.

The menu will be served from 5:30 to 10 p.m. $80, plus tax and gratuity. Reservations: 739-8780.

NOBU COMING TO TOWN

RESTAURANTEUR VISITING NAMESAKE

Chef Nobu Matsuhisa will be making one of his periodic visits to the Island outpost of his Nobu restaurant empire May 28 to June 1, celebrating the restaurant's first anniversary. He had to do it. After all, as he said a little more than a year ago when he visited just before the critically acclaimed restaurant's opening, when asked what makes a restaurant a Nobu restaurant: "Nobu!" he replied.

Nobu, in the Waikiki Parc Hotel opposite the Halekulani in Waikiki, is open for lunch 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., dinner, 5:30 to 11 p.m. and The Lounge at Nobu operates from 5 p.m. to midnight.
