A rescue team with the Big Island fire department recovered the body of a missing opihi picker along Hamakua coastline between 'O'okala and Pa'auilo last night.

The opihi picker was reported missing at 7:45 p.m. He was last seen along the Hamakua coastline.

Chopper 1 found the victim's body near the coastline and transported it to the police station.

Cause of death is unknown at this time and the victim's identity is being held pending notification of family.
