The State Department of Transportation has announced several road projects that will affect traffic through Monday at the following locations:
Mililani Mauka-bound motorists are advised to proceed along the H-2 Freeway to the following Mililani Town off-ramp (Exit 5B), turn right onto Meheula Parkway, and make a U-turn at the Kuahelani Avenue intersection or to use alternate routes such as Kamehameha Highway.
Additional police officers will be on-site at the Kuahelani Avenue intersection directing traffic to minimize congestion in the area.
Electronic traffic messageboards are also posted in the area to notify motorists of the closure.
During this time, the H-1 westbound School Street off-ramp (Exit 21A) will also be closed.
Westbound H-1 motorists are advised to use the previous Vineyard Boulevard off-ramp (Exit 22) and turn right onto Nuuanu Avenue to access the Pauoa area. Roadwork is weather-permitting.
All on-and-off-ramps will remain open during this time.
Single lane closures may also be implemented on Nimitz Highway below the viaduct during these hours as a safety precaution.
Westbound motorists are advised to use caution while driving through the work area, to allow for extra travel time or to use alternate routes including the H-201 Moanalua Freeway or Nimitz Highway underneath the H-1 Airport Viaduct.
Roadwork is weather-permitting.
