"Asia Pacific Art Rhythms" is the theme of the Hawai'i State Art Museum's family-friendly Second Saturday event, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. today.
University of Hawai'i Ethnomusicology Department staff and graduate students will show you how to play Balinese gamelan musical instruments; and you can make your own shadow puppet.
Admission is free. 586-0900.
And if you haven't yet found a Mother's Day gift, the museum's shop will be open from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The restaurant, Downtown @ the HiSAM, will be open from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., too.
