Perry and Price No. 1 on morning radio

When Michael W. Perry and Larry Price mark their 30th anniversary in August as Honolulu's morning drive radio ratings leader, they'll have a lot to celebrate.
Like, three back-to-back decades of No. 1 rankings in the Arbitron radio ratings, including the just-out winter survey.
"Perry and Price have been No. 1 for 30 consecutive years — and they lead their closest competitor by 15 share points," said Chuck Cotton, vice president and general manager of Clear Channel Radio Hawai'i. Perry and Price are simulcast on KSSK-FM (92.3) and KSSK-AM (590).
Conventional wisdom is that if you lead in the morning, you carry the day — and it plays out with KSSK-FM also being the top-ranked station in the day-and-night overall ratings, with KSSK-AM also earning a slot (at No. 10) in the Top 10.
Their shares dropped a bit from the fall 2007 ratings, but they still dominate the ratings with double-digit postings.
