Rainbows top Utah State in WAC softball, 5-2

Tanisha Milca and Amanda Tauali'i had RBI singles in a three-run sixth inning today to boost Hawai'i to a 5-2 victory over Utah State in the first game of a Western Athletic Conference doubleheader at Rainbow Wahine Softball Stadium.
Hawai'i is 34-17 and 8-7 in the WAC. Utah State is 14-30 and 2-13.
In the Rainbows' sixth, Kate Robinson walked and went to second on a single by Clare Warwick. After Valana Manuma fouled out, Richie-Ann Titcomb walked to fill the bases. Tauali'i, pinch hitting for Audrey Andrade, singled to left field to score Robinson and give UH a 3-2 lead. Katie Grimes walked to score Warwick, then Milca singled to left-center field to score Titcomb for a 5-2 lead.
Robinson had a two-run single in the first inning to give UH a 2-0 lead. Utah State scored single runs in the third and fifth inning to tie the score.
Jessica Morton pitched 3 2/3 innings of relief to earn the victory.
