KAUA'I GARDEN DOCENTS — The National Tropical Botanical Garden will provide free docent training for its south-shore site from 1 to 3:30 p.m. on Wednesdays beginning April 30 through June 18. Docents lead garden tours and receive training in botany, propagation, conservation, nursery management, customer service. Annual commitment of 72 volunteer hours required. OPERATION POLIHALE — The Division of State Parks and Leadership Kaua'i welcome volunteers to work with Pi'ina Hoku youth program in Operation Polihale from 8 a.m. to noon April 12. MARSH RESTORATION — The Hawai'i Nature Center is restoring Pouhala Marsh, the largest remaining wetland in Pearl Harbor. Volunteers needed to pull pickleweed and mangrove from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. April 12. Bring work gloves, water, hat, sunscreen, towel and change of clothes; covered footwear and long pants required.
