Early registration for The Honolulu Marathon will be May 3 and 4 at Niketown in Waikiki.
In years past, early registration lasted for nine days. This year, it is only the two days.
Times have yet to be determined for the early registration.
Cost is $30 and a ticket to the lu'au and concert at the Waikiki Shell will be $25.
The marathon will be Dec. 14. The lu'au/concert will be Dec. 12.
GYMNASTICS
VERCRUYSSEN NAMED TO U.S. TEAM FOR EVENT
Nani Vercruyssen, a 16-year-old who attends Roosevelt High School, will represent the United States in the biannual Pacific Rim Gymnastics Championships in San Jose, Calif., March 29 to 30.
The competition features the top two male and female athletes at the senior and junior levels for the disciplines of men's artistic, women's artistic, trampoline, and rhythmic gymnastics from Australia, Canada, China, Chinese Taipei, Colombia, Hong Kong, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Philippines, Peru, Russia, Singapore, and the United States.
Vercruyssen, who trains at Hawai'i Academy, is a nine-time junior national champion and three-time age group world champion. This will be her last competition as a junior before becoming a senior elite competitor.
