UH diver Friesen finishes sixth in NCAA 3-meter

A day after winning the NCAA title in the 1-meter dive, University of Hawai'i sophomore Emma Friesen finished sixth in the 3-meter final today at Columbus, Ohio.

Friesen, from North Vancouver, British Columbia, finished first in this morning's 3-meter preliminaries at the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships. She had a score of 362.90, followed by Bianca Alvarez of Ohio State with 339.65.

In the finals, Chelsea Davis of Ohio State, who was fifth in the preliminaries, won with 365.85, followed by Alvarez with 354.50. Friesen finished with 332.90.

Friesen earned another 13 points, along with the 20 points for her victory on Thursday, to give Hawai'i 33 points and 20th place in the team standings entering tomorrow's final day.
