Water restored to 2 Vegas hotels after main break

LAS VEGAS — A utility official says a water main break has been repaired and service is restored at two Las Vegas hotels and an upscale condominium complex.
Las Vegas Valley Water District spokesman Roger Buehrer says service was restored shortly after noon after a planned three-hour upgrade of an aging pipeline east of the Strip turned into a 13-hour outage affecting the Hilton and Riviera hotels and the high-rise Turnberry Place condos.
The break happened near Riviera Drive and Paradise Road, after workers finished work about 2 a.m. and repressurized a 40-year-old underground pipeline.
