It probably went largely unnoticed, but a record high temperature was tied in Lihu'e, Kaua'i, yesterday.

As of 4:30 p.m., the mercury there had "soared" to 82 degrees.

That tied the previous high-temperature mark for the day, which was set back in 2003.
