$1.5M released for school playground equipment

Gov. Linda Lingle released $1.5 million yesterday to install safe and accessible playground equipment at 17 schools on the Big Island, Kaua'i, Maui and O'ahu.
Last year, Lingle released $2.35 million for playground improvements in 2007 for the design and installation of playground equipment at 25 schools across the state. Projects covered by this new allotment are scheduled to be completed by December 2009.
Schools include:
Big Island: Ha'aheo Elementary School, Kalaniana'ole Elementary & Intermediate School Kaua'i: Koloa Elementary School, Waimea Canyon Middle School Maui: Kula Elementary School, Pukalani Elementary School O'ahu: Enchanted Lake Elementary School, 'Ewa Beach Elementary School, Hawai'i Center for the Deaf and Blind, Jarrett Middle School, Kaewai Elementary School, Ka'iulani Elementary School, Kane'ohe Elementary School, Koko Head Elementary School, Mililani Waena Elementary School, Nanaikapono Elementary School, Pearlridge Elementary School.
