Courtney Kessell pitched a perfect game and Sherise Musquiz hurled a two-hitter as Hawai'i Pacific swept Wisconsin-Stout, 8-0 and 10-0, yesterday in a non-conference softball doubleheader at the HPU Field.
Both games were called after 4 1/2 innings because of the mercy rule.
Kessell (9-0) struck out nine and had two hits, including a two-run single, for the Sea Warriors (17-0). Krystal Plunkett and Anuhea Young each added two hits, and Tajia Acierto had two RBIs.
Musquiz (8-0) struck out six and walked two. She gave up singles to the first two batters of the game but escaped trouble and was in command the rest of the way.
Courtney Senas had three hits and Jessica Adolph drove in three runs for the Sea Warriors.
The Blue Devils fell to 7-3.

TOREROS TROUNCE HILO
Kyle Blair pitched a two-hitter over eight innings with 16 strikeouts, and San Diego amassed 24 hits — 22 of them singles — to trounce host Hawai'i-Hilo, 15-0, yesterday in a non-conference baseball game at Wong Stadium.
Blair (1-3) walked two and allowed only a first-inning single to Michael Higa and an eighth-inning single to John Hoffman. Scott DeNault pitched a perfect ninth, recording three more strikeouts as the Toreros improved to 12-7.
Kevin Hansen and Kevin Muno each had four hits, and James Meador, Jose Valerio and Nick McCoy had three hits apiece for San Diego. Of those 17 hits, only Valerio's RBI double went for extra bases. Victor Sanchez got the Toreros' other extra-base hit — a three-run homer in the second that gave San Diego a 7-0 lead.
Of the four pitchers used by Hilo (7-10), Nathan Kekahuna Jr. was the only effective one — working the final 2 2/3 innings while allowing no runs and two hits.
