Search ends for kayaker off Kauai

The search for the man who went missing after a kayak accident yesterday afternoon off the south shore of Kaua'i ended at 5:30 today, the Coast Guard said..
A Coast Guard spokeswoman said tonight that the search would not be resumed.
Corey and Tina German, both 36, launched their kayak at Koloa Landing Saturday afternoon. The seas were choppy and they ran into trouble, said Kaua'i County spokeswoman Mary Daubert.
Tina German was discovered about 400 yards from The Beach House Restaurant and was brought to shore by two lifeguards at around 3:15 pm. She was taken to Wilcox Hospital. Her condition was reported as stable.
A full-scale search was conducted for Corey German yesterday, including efforts by the Coast Guard who searched into the night.
At around 7:15 this morning, firefighters, lifeguards, Air-1, along with the Coast Guard resumed their search.
The Fire Department set up a command post at Prince Kuhio Park this morning, where it serves as the center of today's search and rescue operations.
Based on where Tina German was found and ocean conditions, today's search and rescue operations are being conducted between Koloa Landing and Spouting Horn.
The Coast Guard said it searched more than 175 square miles trying to find Corey German.
