HONOLULU – Gov. Linda Lingle has nominated an additional 35 individuals from around the state to serve on various state boards and commissions. The appointments are subject to confirmation by the state Senate. A list of the nominees is attached.
"My administration appreciates the willingness of these individuals to serve the public by dedicating their time, talents and expertise to help improve state government," Lingle said.
The 35 nominees are in addition to the 160 individuals the governor reappointed last month to serve new terms on boards and commissions.
Nearly 1,300 people statewide serve on more than 160 boards and commissions that were established by the state constitution, state statutes, or executive orders. Boards and commissions are designed to get input from a broad cross section of Hawai'i residents.
