TONIGHT'S MUST-SEE

"Canterbury's Law" debut, 7 p.m., Fox. Elizabeth Canterbury (Julianna Margulies) is a classic TV lawyer. She's smart, she's tough and she's willing to bend the truth to win a case. There's more, though. Canterbury is a wounded and caring person. Her son disappeared four years ago. She can't deal with that, so she throws herself fiercely into work and into an affair.

"The New Adventures of Old Christine," 7:30 and 8:31 p.m., CBS. In a state of desperation, Christine samples two things she fears — blind dates and classical music. The music doesn't surprise her, but the date does. Most weeks, "New Christine" has fairly good lines, delivered by terrific actors. This time, however, the story has an exceptional twist; one scene, with Gigi Rice as guest star, is hilarious. That's in the night's first half-hour. In the second, Richard and "new Christine" are buying a house that "old Christine" (Richard's ex-wife) coveted, She tries to be happy for them.

OF NOTE

"In Treatment," 6:30 p.m., HBO. With no more Laura sessions scheduled for Mondays, Paul has a chance to talk to his daughter and son. The latter portion is so-so, but the former is strong and emotional.

"The Bachelor: Where Are They Now?" 7 p.m., ABC. "The Bachelor" steps into its biggest blemish — the fact that it hardly ever makes a successful match. It brings back its only married couple (Trista and Ryan from "Bachelorette") and catches up on a few bachelors. It introduces this spring's bachelor, Matt Grant (a British financier) and this summer's bachelorette. She's DeAnna Pappas, who — in a new low for the show — was jilted this fall when the bachelor picked no one.

"High School Confidential" debut, 7 p.m., WE/KHON digital 598. Some reality people might follow someone for a few weeks and figure they have a series. Not this one; it chose freshman girls in a Kansas high school, then followed them off and on for four years. Each hour focuses on two or three of them, and this opener has a strong contrast. One is Lauren, who admits she had a problem-free life. She had two loving parents, a boyfriend and school popularity. Then a major health crisis hit. The other is Cappie (originally Caprice), who realizes that others have it easier. Her dad left when she was young; she spent three nights a week at a part-time job. Cappie threw herself into the social scene. A couple times, she admits, she got drunk enough to pass out. Then she tried to put things back together; you'll be rooting for both of them.

"College Hill Reunion" conclusion, 7:30 p.m., BET. Here's the second half of the special, catching up on people from previous seasons.

"October Road" season finale, 8 p.m., ABC. Eddie's ex-girlfriend is back, complicating his life and romance. Meanwhile, Hannah's engagement is in danger, because she's been arrested for assaulting her fiance's ex-wife. And Nick, the center of the series, has an offer for an out-of-town job.
