The Royal Hawaiian Hotel offers packages for Hawai'i residents and visitors in keeping with the 2008 Hawai'i Romance Festival May 2-11, hosted by the Matt Catingub Orchestra of Hawai'i.
For Hawai'i residents: The "Kama'aina Romance at The Royal" package includes a garden-view room in the historic section of the hotel, a bottle of champagne and sweet chocolate-dipped strawberries (one-time offering), daily breakfast buffet for two at the Surf Room or room service, free self-parking, and late checkout at 4 p.m. The package is through May 31 based on double occupancy; no minimum stay required; $230 a night. 808-923-7311, www.royal-hawaiian.com. For visitors: The Royal Hawaiian's "A Hui Hou ... Until We Meet Again" package, includes daily breakfast buffet for two, a memento gift and a one-night gift certificate (must be used with the purchase of two consecutive paid nights) to return to The Royal Hawaiian in 2009 to experience a restored and renewed hotel, celebrating a new era of redefined luxury. The festival's closing concert with Boz Scaggs is May 11, in the Coconut Grove at The Royal Hawaiian. "Pink Night" will benefit the Queen's Cancer Center fight against breast cancer, and includes dinner and a fashion show. American Safari Cruises will launch interisland cruises this December aboard the 36-passenger Safari Explorer. The line said cruises will focus on traditional Hawaiian culture and will enable guests to get to know local residents by visiting their land and their homes. The all-American crew will include Hawai'i residents (captains, naturalists) who have knowledge of the area. The yacht, which travels only during the day, will visit Moloka'i, Lana'i, Maui, the Big Island and several snorkel/dive sites. American Safari's inaugural season starts Dec. 19 and ends May 9, 2009.
