Fire rescue specialists brought out an injured woman hiker tonight in Lanikai.

The woman, 51, of California had a right ankle sprain and was unable to walk out from the Lanikai pillbox area due to the injury, terrain and darkness, Honolulu Fire Department spokesman Capt. Terry Seelig said.

Firefighters responded at 7:07 p.m. with the department helicopter, which completed the rescue mission at 8:15 p.m. The woman was not seriously injured, Seelig said.
