CFB: S.Carolina DB suspended indefinitely

COLUMBIA, S.C. — South Carolina coach Steve Spurrier says defensive back Carlos Thomas has been suspended indefinitely for violating team rules.
The coach's statement today did not elaborate, and an athletics spokesman would not be more specific about what the junior did.
Thomas started seven games at cornerback last year and made 20 career starts over the past three seasons. The 5-11, 192-pounder from College Park, Ga., had 17 tackles and six pass breakups in 2007.
Running back Mike Davis also has been suspended for one game for missing too many classes.
The Gamecocks begin spring practice March 19.
