A Village Park man accused of 24 counts of sexual assault and being held on $1 million bail is scheduled to make his initial appearance in district court this morning.

Police said Saturday that Albert Ancheta Pedro, 38, had been charged with 24 counts of sexual assault, including four counts of continuous sexual assault of a minor.

Pedro was arrested at a Kauweke Place address at 4:05 p.m. Friday, according to a police report. Police said there are at least three victims — a 33-year-old woman and two girls, ages 10 and 5.
